EXIT Ausstellung in der Galerie Breckner

Florian Reinhardt's "EXIT" exhibition
Juli 31, 2021

Florian Reinhardt's "EXIT" exhibition was showcased at Galerie Breckner in Düsseldorf from August 7 to September 3, 2021. The opening event took place on August 7, between 2 PM and 6 PM, with the artist in attendance.

Over two decades, Reinhardt has photographed iconic, man-made symbols—small, repetitive details encountered during his travels. His close-up shots are detached from specific contexts, pointing to universal themes. In his "EXIT" series, he focuses on ubiquitous exit signs—industrially produced and universally understood regardless of country or culture. Conceptually aligned with Marcel Duchamp's ready-mades, Reinhardt's endlessly repeating exit signs touch on human existence, which is always in progress. Through these omnipresent signs, the artist explores the human realm of possibilities: every individual has the opportunity daily to pause, change perspectives, and make free decisions in the serial process called life.

In a collaborative effort with Galerie Breckner and the Bonner General-Anzeiger, all proceeds from the exhibition were donated to support victims of the recent floods in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. This initiative underscores the exhibition's theme of new beginnings and the chance to make the world a better place.
